17+ Years Professional Experience
Child & Adolescent Integrative Arts Therapy
Therapeutic support for children and young people aged 3–18, based in Redbridge, East London, and supporting families across surrounding Essex areas.
I provide counselling for children and young people who may be struggling with their emotions, behaviour, friendships, school or changes in their lives. Therapy gives children a safe and supportive space to make sense of what they are experiencing, in ways that feel right for them.

Every Child Communicates Differently
Children do not always find it easy to explain what they are feeling or experiencing. I combine talking therapy with creative and play-based approaches, including art, drawing, making, sandtray and imaginative play. This gives children different ways to communicate, explore their feelings and make sense of what is happening for them. I follow the child’s lead and adapt the way we work according to their age, personality, needs and what they are comfortable with.
Understanding Emotions
Helping children develop a clearer understanding of their feelings and experiences.
Emotional Regulation
Exploring strong or difficult emotions and developing greater emotional awareness.
Confidence and Self-Esteem
Providing opportunities to explore how a child sees themselves and the experiences affecting their confidence.
Communication and Relationships
Helping children build emotional language and explore relationships with family, friends and the people around them.
How I Can Support You
Support is adapted around the individual child and, where appropriate, the adults and professionals involved in their life.
Child & Adolescent
Therapy
One-to-one therapy for children and young people aged 3–18 who may be finding things difficult at home, at school or in their relationships.
We start with what is happening for your child and work from there. Sessions may involve talking, art, play, sandtray or other creative ways of exploring what they are feeling and experiencing.
Where appropriate, sessions may also involve working together with parents or other family members to support relationships and communication.
- Anxiety, worries and big feelings
- School, friendships and confidence
- Family changes, loss and difficult experiences
Reflective Parenting
Sessions
It can be difficult to know what your child needs when their behaviour or emotions change. Reflective Parenting Sessions give you space to talk through what is happening, understand what may be behind it and think together about what might help.
The focus is on developing a deeper understanding of your child and finding thoughtful, practical ways to respond to them at home.
- Understanding what may be behind behaviour
- Making sense of your child’s emotional needs
- Finding helpful ways to respond at home
Schools &
Professionals
Children are affected by what is happening across their different worlds. Where appropriate and with the necessary consent, I can work alongside schools and other professionals to build a clearer picture of a child’s needs and help the adults around them respond consistently.
This can include:
- Liaising with your child’s school
- Attending meetings with parents and professionals
- Sharing relevant therapeutic observations and recommendations
- Helping create a more joined-up approach around the child

My Work With Children & Young People

Anthony White
Anthony is the Founder, Owner & Lead Therapist of Creative and Art Therapy Services.
I’m Anthony, and I’ve spent over 17 years working with children and young people across specialist provisions, pupil referral units, mainstream primary and secondary schools, private schools and in private practice.
That experience has taught me that children can communicate what is happening for them in very different ways. Some children are comfortable talking. Others may communicate more naturally through drawing, making, play, sandtray or other creative activities. Some may not know how to explain what they are feeling at all.
My role is not to expect every child to engage with therapy in the same way. I take time to understand the child in front of me and adapt the way we work around their age, personality, needs and circumstances.
A Child-Led Approach
A child-led approach means starting with the child rather than starting with a fixed idea of what therapy should look like.
I pay attention to how a child communicates, what they are comfortable with and what helps them feel safe enough to engage. Sometimes that may mean talking; sometimes it may involve art, play, sandtray or simply taking time to build a relationship before exploring more difficult things.
The aim is to create a therapeutic space where children can gradually feel understood, develop greater resilience and confidence, gain a better understanding of themselves and find ways of managing what they are experiencing.
A Whole Perspective
A child does not exist in isolation. Home, school, friendships, family relationships and significant changes in their life can all affect how they feel and behave.
Where appropriate, I work with parents and carers and, with consent, communicate with schools and other professionals so that the child’s wider circumstances can be understood alongside what happens in therapy.
Working Together
Parents and carers remain an important part of the process. I can offer support in understanding what may be happening for your child and thinking about how you can support them outside of sessions.
Where it is helpful, I can also work alongside schools and other professionals to create a more joined-up understanding of the child and the support they need.

Send An Enquiry
The first step is a free initial telephone consultation with me. There is no obligation – you can tell me a little about what has been happening, ask questions and find out more about how I work. You do not need to know exactly what your child needs before getting in touch.
Arrange An Initial Telephone Consultation
Free Initial Consultation
We start with a short phone call so you can tell me a little about what has been happening, what you are concerned about and what you would like support with. It is also a chance to ask any questions and get a feel for how I work.
Parent / Carer Meeting
If you decide to go ahead, I first meet with the parent or carer to talk through your child’s background, current needs and any concerns in more detail. This helps me build a fuller picture of your child before I begin working directly with them.
It also gives you an opportunity to meet me in person and see the room where your child will have their sessions.
Your Child's First Session
Your child’s first session is an opportunity for us to meet, begin getting to know each other and become familiar with the space. They can take time to settle in, explore the room and the creative materials, and begin in a way that feels comfortable for them. There is no pressure to talk about anything they are not ready to discuss.
Ongoing Therapy
Sessions take place weekly at the same time each week. This regularity helps create consistency and familiarity, while giving your child an ongoing space to explore their feelings, experiences and what may be happening for them.
